Astrological consultations
It's a sign!
To signify : " to be a sign of, to indicate, to mean," from Old French signifier (12c.),
from Latin significare "to make signs, show by signs, point out, express; mean, signify; foreshadow, portend," from significus (adj.), from signum "identifying mark, sign"
Astrology is a language, a system, a code that allows for communication to happen, a message is being conveyed by using symbols and signs. The question and the answer as both sides of the same coin. The message is always there, waiting to be read, listened and interpreted. That's the role of the astrologer: to ask the stars and to listen ; to be at the service of "He who makes signs and makes sense".
Astrology is a divination art form through which we can communicate with the cosmos and the Divine, and vice versa. It is a tool for reflection and introspection, to find meaning and to understand the laws of the universe and the cycles of life. We are then better prepared to navigate through life and co-create, to stay on course or to course correct. Astrology helps us put things into perspective, to see the bigger picture, and to remember where we come from. The simple act of observing, and being present and open to what is being shown to us is an essential component of the astrological experience...

A sign is enough for the alert, but a thousand counsels is not enough for the negligent

Hellenistic Astrology
There are different types of astrology: modern, medieval, Chinese, Vedic, etc. Hellenistic astrology corresponds to the form of astrology practiced between 100 BC and 600 AD in Europe. It is based on ancient texts and sources going back more than 2000 years. Astrology has always existed, it evolved with time, from Mesopotamia and Egypt to the Roman Empire. It is during the Hellenistic period that the system finally incorporated its basic elements: the 7 traditional planets, the signs, the aspects and the houses.
Since 1990, Hellenistic astrology is being rediscovered thanks to the efforts of the team of Project Hindsight (Robert Schmidt, Ellen Black, Robert Hand, Robert Zoller) who translated the ancient texts from Greek into English and revealed the principles of interpretation and new predictive techniques.

Destiny and Free Will
We can use astrology as a tool, as a mirror to see more clearly what lies at the heart of a particular situation.
The planets speak with incredible variety and poetry; they reflect our uniqueness.
Though we may try to by-pass them, some experiences are non-negotiable, obligatory stops. They lie beyond our control, we are bound to experience them. They are defining moments anchoring us and giving the pattern of our life its very unique form.
Whether we are aware of it or not, we also make our own « knots ». And so we can decide to loosen or adjust them by a change in our behaviours, beliefs, actions and intentions. If we can see the threads, we might be able to pull our strings and disentangle from the situation we find ourselves in.
Astrology gives us the chance to see the tapestry, and hopefully enjoying its beauty will help us make peace with the most difficult times and feel enthused at the idea of being (part of) its creation. We can choose to follow one path instead of many others. But all of them will be - in essence - the true expression of our astrological natal promise. Let's ask ouselves what do we tend towards?

Being and Becoming
We are constantly changing. Obviously, we aren't the same at 20, 40... or 60 years old.
We sometimes are also totally different people
in the span of a year. We have different rhythms too. Whether we like it or not, life gives us form through time...
...And experience: be it a love relationship, a child, a break-up, an accident, an illness, a dismissal or a promotion, etc.
Now, maybe we keep getting into the same situations, each time more dramatically. We have to use more strength to stay where - or who - we are or think ourselves to be. We are holding on to the way we have always seen things. This is how we want to define ourselves.

If things don't change, maybe it is the sign that we have to change. What if we learned to be carried by the wind? Following our heart and trusting our capacity to be revealed.
This is the story told by Idries Shah in The Tale of the Sands.
Astrology, like a mirror, is a tool for self-reflection, to better see and understand. It can be useful to consult with an astrologer when we are feeling stuck in the sands; or when we feel the urge to change and to discover how life will allow us to become who we are.
The relationship with the oracle deepens with time, it is alive. It evolves according to you.

The Tale of the Sands
Idries Shah
A stream from its beginnings in faraway mountains, passed through a great variety of countryside and then reached the sands of a vast desert. Since it had crossed every other barrier, it was confident that it could cross the desert. However, no matter how hard it tried, the stream always disappeared in the sand.
It was convinced that its destiny was to cross this desert, but could not find a way. It became upset and frightened.
Then it heard a whisper from the desert sand : ‘The wind crosses the desert and so can the stream’.
The stream was amazed by the sands whisper and started to talk,– I have been trying as hard as I can, and anyhow the wind can fly, I am not the wind I cannot fly.– Off course hurtling in your accustomed way you cannot cross. If you keep doing it, you will either disappear or become a marsh. You must allow the wind to carry you over to your destination.– But how could this happen?– By allowing yourself to be absorbed in the wind.
The stream did not like this idea. It had never been absorbed before and was frightened of losing its identity. It thought, ‘if I lose my identity can I get it back again? Or will I be left formless wandering with the wind forever’
The sand, sensing the streams fears, spoke – ‘this is one of the winds jobs It takes up water as vapor and carries it over the desert, and then lets it fall again, falling as rain, the water again becomes a stream’.

The sand, sensing the streams fears, spoke – ‘this is one of the winds jobs It takes up water as vapor and carries it over the desert, and then lets it fall again, falling as rain, the water again becomes a stream’.
– How can I be sure of that? the water said.– It is so, and if you do not believe it, you cannot become more than a marsh, and even that could take many, many years, and that is certainly not the same as a stream.– But I cannot remain the same stream as I am today?– You cannot in either case remain so. The whisper said, Your essential part is carried away and forms a stream again. Even though you are called a stream, and feel a stream, you do not know which part of you is the essential one.
On hearing this, vague echoes began to awake for the stream – dim memories of an aspect of streamness being held by the wind. It thought ‘maybe this is the real thing to do, though not the obvious thing to do’.
So with a leap of faith the stream let go and began to raise as vapor into the welcoming arms of the wind. Being lifted gently upwards and over the desert falling softly as it reached the roof of a mountain, many miles away becoming rain and then a stream again. The stream was able to remember and record more strongly in his mind the details of the experience and reflected, ‘ now I have learned my true identity.’
The stream was learning. The sands whispered: ‘We know because we see it happen every day: and because we, the sands extend from the riverside all the way to the mountains.’
And that is why it is said,
The way of the journey of the stream of life, is written in the sands.
